Facilities

Our facilities are welcoming, with children's artwork adorning the walls. As you enter our lobby, you will feel the energy of a dynamic and distinctive day school.

York Avenue Day School classrooms are bright, spacious, and designed specifically for toddlers and preschoolers. Each classroom has direct access to children's bathrooms, which fosters independence. Our teachers create a fun and engaging environment in each room.

The 25,000-square-foot facility was personally designed by our co-founders based on their many years of experience offering integrated education, sports and gymnastics programs. Our art studio, music room, lending library, teaching kitchen, and two gyms were custom designed with a specific activity and skill development in mind. 

The art studio allows children to make a mess and express themselves creatively. The music room offers a dedicated area for dancing, singing, and introduction to instruments. Our expansive kitchen provides a space for children to be hands-on in preparing a healthy and delicious recipe.  Our downstairs gym is for our younger learners to support their gross motor development. The upstairs gymnastics center offers top-of-the-line equipment that children rotate through under the guidance of USA Gymnastics and USAIGC-certified coaches. The children enjoy the use of our on-site, outdoor playground, located in our plaza. In our library, parents and caregiver volunteers choose from a selection of over 7,000 books to read aloud to classes, supported by our dedicated librarian.

Additionally, our facility takes air quality very seriously. Our HVAC unit has a separate intake fan/HEPA filter system. This system provides pre-filtered air before it enters our HVAC units. Further, we have placed additional HEPA filter portable units throughout our facility. The combination of the pre-existing and new portable units will enhance the air quality significantly.
