Enrichment
We weave specialty programs into the curriculum, creating a well-rounded experience for your child. Enrichment classes are designed and run by coaches and teachers who are experts in their respective fields.
Music
Children are introduced to a variety of musical genres, theories and concepts. Our music teachers build music skills, and while the focus is on music development, we also support the growth of the whole child. The teachers facilitate the process through active participation.
Gym
Movement is an integral part of a child’s overall development. Gym classes focus on strengthening children’s gross motor skills, spatial awareness, coordination, balance, agility and self-confidence.
Art
Students practice processed-based art, which emphasizes the act of creating over the finished product. Children explore different materials, make messes, and expand their creativity, while engaging in open-ended projects.
Kitchen
Through cooking enrichment, children learn that food is fun, cooking is creative, and the kitchen is an accessible place for artistic expression. Cooking enhances both small and gross motor skills as the children stir, pour and measure while also promoting pre-math and pre-literacy skills.
STEAM
Through hands-on experiments and activities, STEAM motivates young thinkers to explore, discover, and understand the world around them. Children are challenged to think critically and apply what they learn and already know in hands-on, creative ways. STEAM will foster each child’s innate curiosity while inspiring a passion for learning.
Library
We have our own lending library with over 8,000 volumes and a dedicated librarian. The children visit each week to choose books and listen to a story read by a "Guest Reader," a parent volunteer. Our older students participate in a hands-on non-fiction lesson with our librarian, which ties into their classroom curriculum.
Living Science
An animal expert visits once a month. Having the animals in the classroom affords children the opportunity to learn interesting facts about them, along with knowledge of their habitat. Children are able to interact gently and kindly with many of the animals, as modeled by the teachers.
Yoga
Each week the students practice focused movement and conscious breathing. Through adaptable games, songs and unique yoga adventures the children will gain new skills to thrive within and develop a more successful connection to the world around them. Each session ends with a guided children’s relaxation and reflection, which leaves the students feeling more balanced, accomplished and refreshed.
